The Employment Zoning Project will implement new directions for industrial and employment land uses proposed in the draft 2035 Comprehensive Plan. Expected outcomes include code changes to industrial and employment zones and zoning map changes for new employment and industrial areas.
The Employment Zoning Project is one of eight projects that implement Portland’s 2035 Comprehensive Plan, adopted by the Portland City Council on June 15, 2016. The Planning and Sustainability Commission (PSC) received testimony on each Early Implementation project between October 2015 and July 2016. The PSC voted on August 23, 2016, to approve and consolidate these projects into an “Early Implementation Package,” which is now moving forward to City Council for consideration. This package is the final stage of the state-required periodic review of Portland’s Comprehensive Plan.
