Contents of Update Packet #134 (effective 09/18/09) This Code update is the result of the Hayden Island Plan. Code Update Packet: 134 Effective Date: September 18, 2009 Contact: Barry Manning, 503-823-7965 Amends Chapters: 33.470, 33.532 (new) Substantive Changes: This plan for the eastern portion of Hayden Island is designed to create a sustainable neighborhood with a variety of housing, retail, and other uses. The plan is also strongly oriented to the planned Columbia River Crossing, and the new light rail station that will be part of it. Because the only access on and off the Island is via the I-5 bridge, the transportation capacity of the interchange was a major factor in determining how much development — and of what type — could be accommodated.
