About 75 residents, property owners and business people attended a Cully Main Street and Local Street Plans project community workshop on March 7 at Rigler School. Community members reviewed City staff’s first set of proposals for Cully Main Street area rezoning and the Cully neighborhood local street system. The proposed changes would facilitate more business opportunities in central Cully and create a safer, healthier community for residents. Overall, attendees were positive about the proposals, and some provided suggestions and other constructive comments to improve them.
The event featured various “stations” with information boards or posters. Staff provided a brief overview presentation and were on hand to discuss proposals and other information and record community members’ comments. Participants were encouraged to fill out two surveys; one for the Cully Main Street portion and another for the transportation side of the project. The information gathered will help guide the project team in developing a staff report and recommendations for the public hearing and adoption process in the spring and summer.
