On May 8th, the Portland Planning and Sustainability Commission (PSC) will hold public hearings on the factual basis – or background research – for analysis and decision making in the Comprehensive Plan Update. The PSC will review and consider an updated Public Schools Background Report, Economic Opportunities Analysis and Buildable Lands Inventory and hear public comments on the reports.
The Public Schools Background Report explains the roles that public schools play as physical places in the environment and central elements in complete neighborhoods. The Economic Opportunities Analysis is an examination of the 20-year supply and demand for employment development and land within the city. The Buildable Lands Inventory is an analysis of the impact of various physical, natural, and market factors on achieving Portland’s targeted growth in housing and employment over the next 25 years.
To comment on the background reports in person, testify at the PSC hearing, on May 8th, 2012, at 12:30 p.m., at 1900 SW 4th Avenue, 2500A.
