Meeting objectives
- Identify / define Elements of Good Public Involvement for Land Use Planning and Development Review (first draft) that will frame development of updated comprehensive plan policies
- Refine PEG work plan
- Finalize survey
Welcome, Meeting Overview and Announcements (6:00 p.m. / 5 minutes)

Description: Self-introductions. For members who were absent at the June 21 meeting, please share community involvement background including experience, interests and issues.
Groups working on Community Involvement and the Comprehensive Plan Update (6:15 p.m. / 15 minutes)
Presenter: Paul Leistner, Office of Neighborhood Involvement and PEG Co-lead
Description: Description of primary Community Involvement / Comprehensive Plan groups
- 1. Community Involvement PEG, 2. Comprehensive Plan Work Group of the City’s Public Involvement Advisory Committee (PIAC), 3. PIAC, 4. Community Involvement Committee (CIC) for the Comprehensive Plan, and 5. PEG-specific public outreach
- Group questions, discussion, ideas, concerns
Our (updated) process going forward (6:30 p.m. / 5 minutes)

Description:
- At each meeting, updates and next steps for the PIAC work group and PEG outreach efforts
- Summary meeting notes will be sent out with agendas at least 1 week prior to each meeting
- We will check in at the end of each meeting to determine needed adjustments, progress, issues, process improvements, etc.
- PEG members are always welcome to contact Deb, Paul, and/or Marty between meetings and we will check in with you along the way
Defining the Elements of Good Public Involvement in Land Use Planning and Development Review (6:35 p.m. / 40 minutes)

- PEG member-proposed elements and priorities for which are most important, based on individual analysis of the City of Portland Public Involvement Principles,California’s Institute for Local Government Public Engagement Principles, and Portland Plan Equity Framework

Work Plan Priorities (7:15 p.m. / 15 minutes)

Description:
- Which elements must have new policy developed prior to discussion draft Oct 1 deadline? Which have a solid body of existing policies (from Vision PDX, Community Connect, other goals of the comprehensive plan, etc.?) or are best suited for PEG work following additional public input later this fall and early winter?
