Description: Review the group of draft goals and policy concepts and discuss meaning / implications if these are the policies adopted through the Comprehensive Plan update. Apply the equity discussion from the November PEG meeting in review of the community involvement concepts being considered:
- How can the policies effectively address the competing commitments of resources and intention for quality public involvement?
- Is there a way for the Comprehensive Plan process to influence the creation of a more equitable Public Involvement approach? What resources are in our toolkit to encourage capacity development and resource allocation that will effectively support and empower participation in land-use decision making?
Sort through the goals and policies to determine areas requiring further PEG discussion, concepts needing additional discussion about steps toward implementation, those ripe for additional PEG public outreach, and ideas to begin informing potential implementation steps (ultimately, the implementation ideas will either be forwarded onto the PIAC for future work and/or outlined in the PEGs ‘white paper’).
