The West Quadrant planning process kicked off in early December with two events focused on the Goose Hollow District of the Central City. First was an evening workshop held on December 5th where community members worked in small groups to identify community assets, issues and opportunities that should be considered during the planning process.
Second was a concept development charrette held on December 12th, where stakeholders, staff and consultants spent the afternoon generating ideas about how Goose Hollow could look and feel in the future. A number of rough sketches were produced illustrating those ideas
There was a good turnout for both events, each drawing about 30 people, including a mix of residents, area businesses and property owners. Participants came with a high level of energy and excitement about the planning process and there was lots of good discussion and exchanging of ideas. Thank you to the Hotel deLuxe for hosting both of the events!
Staff will work to compile the results of the events into a summary report that will be available in late January 2013. From there ideas will be grouped into draft concepts for further discussion and feedback from the community.
