About the Equity Review

The primary focus of the equity review is to identify opportunities to enhance the benefits of climate change programs and policies for all residents -- and avoid potential negative impacts or missed opportunities for communities of color and low-income populations. The Working Group will also make recommendations on “climate equity metrics” to help measure progress toward equity while achieving the goals of the Climate Action Plan.

The Equity Working Group’s input will be shared with chapter lead staff, as well as the steering committee, for consideration when revising and finalizing the CAP actions. Recommendations that are not a good fit for the CAP actions themselves will be compiled in a companion document that will be more focused on implementation ideas and considerations.
