GoGreen 13: The Evolution of Green -- Advancing Equity and Economic Vitality

go green logoThis year’s GoGreen conference pays homage to Portland's tradition of local leadership on sustainability with remarks from Mayor Charlie Hales. Mayor Hales will discuss the economic development opportunities that have grown up as a result of our region's investment in sustainable systems, and highlight ways to spread the benefits more equitably among our citizens.

GoGreen will also host New America Foundation Senior Fellow and retired Marine Colonel, Mark Mykleby, on the GoGreen Portland stage for a special presentation on the critical role of a triple bottom line approach in shaping a new strategic narrative and vision for the United States, plus insights on how a city like Portland is positioned to capitalize on the groundwork we've laid over the past decades.

The conference will again feature how-to workshops that are information-intensive and aimed to provide tactical knowledge of business fundamentals and actionable next steps to advance sustainable operations and practices in your organization.

A new feature will be the Leadership Think Tank Track. Some of Oregon's most inventive decision makers will gather for an interactive and participatory leadership think tank. This track will engage in conversations that bring diverse perspectives together to tackle the real challenges facing the sustainable economy in the state of Oregon. With a mix of roundtables, full group discussion and active participation, the primary emphasis is to utilize the magnitude of attendee expertise to develop opportunities for collaboration both within the conference and beyond.
