This Code update the result of the Urban Food Code Project that passed City Council on June 13, 2012. These amendments were adopted by emergency ordinance and are already in effect.

Amends Chapters: 33.100, 33.110, 33.120, 33.130, 33.140, 33.200, 33.237, 33.279, 33.281, 33.296, 33.815, 33.900, 33.910, 33.920
Substantive Changes:
Amendments to the Zoning Code include the following:
- Allow market gardens in all zones with size limits in R zones, while ensuring that negative impacts of the gardening on neighbors are minimized.
- Minimize the negative impacts of community gardens on surrounding neighbors.
- Allow food membership distribution sites in all zones but regulate the impacts of the distribution activity in R zones, including frequency of deliveries and number of members.
- Explicitly allow farmers markets as a temporary activity in all nonresidential zones and high-density residential zones. Regulations also address number of non-farm vendors and when markets may set up on parking lots.
- Require notice to neighbors in certain situations.
