BTS Division

Production Services


Manages and maintains City storage systems including the Storage Area Network (SAN), which provides three tiers of storage performance.

Standard Service Features

  • Adding, modifying, and removing storage provisioned to servers
  • Performance tuning and optimization
  • Capacity planning

Disk is purchased in 50GB increments, with a one-time setup fee and ongoing annual charge per increment based on the Tier of storage purchased:

  • Tier 1 storage is high performance, higher cost storage used in situations where less performing disk is inadequate, such as large, high-performance databases.
  • Tier 2 storage is normal performance, medium cost storage used for most business needs like application servers, database servers, and active file shares; not acceptable for high performance needs.
  • Tier 3 storage is low performance, low cost storage used for archival needs like infrequently accessed files; not acceptable for databases or most applications.

BTS will assist you in assessing your requirements to determine the Tier of storage that best meets the business need.

User Responsibilities

  • Users must have an active network account for connectivity
  • Written supervisor authorization and billable SAP object code

Standard Costs

  • One Time Setup:  $541.30 per 50GB increment
  • Annual Charge per 50GB increment:

    • Tier 1:  $562.44
    • Tier 2:  $393.71
    • Tier 3:  $224.98

Optional Costs

 Addition of  specialized storage devices - TBD by nature/type of device requested

Service Targets

Operational uptime  for the SAN 99.996% (Excluding scheduled maintenance)

Additional Information

If business needs for assigned storage change, please contact the Helpdesk for assistance.  After allocation, if storage is used in a manner that is not compatible with the Tier of storage selected, BTS will adjust the storage Tier as required and bill accordingly.
