The purpose of the Regional Justice Information Network (RegJIN) Records Management Systems (RMS) project is to replace the existing Portland Police Data System (PPDS), along with increasing the integration between its various components and enhancing its core capabilities. The scope of the RegJIN project was expanded to replace two other systems: Clark County Records management System (CRMS) and Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office CLASS records management system.
The RegJIN RMS went live on April 14, 2015 on time and within its allocated budget. The new system continues to be regional in scope as it provides a depository for crime related information that is entered and shared by over 40 law enforcement agencies located in the Portland metropolitan area. In addition to providing new capabilities such as field based report entry and enhanced case management, it significantly expanded the type and breadth of critical crime data available in PPDS while ensuring data confidentiality in a secure, highly available environment.
