The Bureau of Environmental Services provides Portland residents with Clean River programs including water quality protection, watershed planning, wastewater collection and treatment, sewer installation, and stormwater management. Environmental Services has nearly 500 employees organized into five work groups that operate under the Office of the Director – Watershed Services, Pollution Prevention Services, Engineering Services, Wastewater and Business Services.
