Blogs: A Fast & Effective Way to Share Information

Portland Fire & Rescue created a Fire Blog in 2009 with the goal of communicating to the citizens of Portland what we stand for, what we're trying to accomplish, and what’s important to us as a bureau. We work hard to provide usable information, resources, and tips to readers both inside and outside of PF&R.

PF&R realizes that for many, blogging is a shift in how people discover, read, and share news, information, and content.  We are fortunate to report that readership of the blog has been steadily increasing, and we have added yet another goals for ourselves – we are committing to our readers that the blog will continue to offer original and fresh content with more of an emphasis on human interest stories.

Other bureaus within the City of Portland are also “blogging,” and have found this social media tool a valuable and useful way to participate in conversations with their audiences. Visit and become a reader of some of the other City blogs…
