At 9:20am Portland Fire & Rescue crews were sent to an apartment fire at 6424 NE Simpson. Crews arrived and found an exterior fire on the apartment complex that was extending to the attic space. Crews were receiving several reports of residents that may be inside and unable to evacuate. One adult male resident was located during search and rescue efforts and was being evaluated by PF&R paramedics for smoke inhalation; transport decision had not been made yet. No other injuries to residents or pets were reported. The fire is out at this time and fire investigators are at the scene to determine a cause and damage assessment.
