Union members from the Laborers' International Union of North America spoke Tuesday to Mayor Charlie Hales and Commissioner Nick Fish, in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Local 483 includes workers in such city bureaus as Parks and Recreation, Environmental Services, Transportation and more. The employees were on hand to discuss the upcoming budget negotiations for the city, and to invite Portland’s elected officials on “ride-alongs” and job shadows.
