Tina Kotek, speaker of the Oregon House, has pushed forward a bill that would end Section 8 discrimination for low-income housing.

The Legislature’s 2013 session began in earnest this week.

The issue was highlighted in 2012 by a series, “Locked Out,” in The Oregonian. It also is priority legislation for the city of Portland in this current legislative session.
