TUESDAY, MAY 14, 2013 – The Dalai Lama’s three-day visit to Portland ended with an hour-long speech on compassion before an estimated audience of 10,000 people at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
The Dalai Lama, head of the Tibetan Buddhism faith, also participated in an environmental summit at Maitripa College in Portland. And his visit was the topic of an episode of “Think Out Loud” on Oregon Public Broadcasting, featuring moderator Dave Miller, Gov. John Kitzhaber, television host David Suzuki and Andrea Durbin, executive director of the Oregon Environmental Council.
His Holiness speaks to an estimated 10,000 people on the topic of compassion.
