So has it come to our attention that some members of the Portland City Council believe that we question the work they do too frequently, and perhaps too pointedly. We will not feign surprise. We do write with relative frequency about City Council's doings, and we tend to be direct.
We've devoted a few editorials recently to a street utility fee Commissioner Steve Novick and Mayor Charlie Hales would like to impose. And these editorials particularly, we hear, have done nothing to endear us to some on City Council. Not that endearing ourselves to elected officials is our goal.
What is our goal, then? Why do we write so frequently about the things Portland City Council does, or would like to do? And why don't we write more nice stuff about its work? Both of these questions have straightforward answers. READ FULL ARTICLE
