Marcela is the President and Owner of Alcantar and Associates, a design support, construction and maintenance service firm. Marcela is one of the founders and the current President of the Diversified Builders and Engineers Council. She was also a key member in leading the formation of a National Latino Contractors Alliance. Marcela is the founding member of the League of United Latin American Citizens, the largest and oldest Hispanic organization in the United States that advances the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence and civil rights of Hispanic Americans.
Holding an Engineering degree from the University of Colorado at Denver, she has over 25 years of extensive experience in project management, technical design, site development, and natural restoration.
Marcela serves on the National Legislative Subcommittee for the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials. She provides input to improve Latino-Indigenous business conditions and provides effective initiative recommendations that result in the inclusion of the Latino-Indigenous community to give a collective voice in the creation of fair and equitable contracting opportunities.
