Andy Smith joined the Office of Government Relations in October, 2011. Andy came to the City with a background in, and passion for, public interest law and politics. Most recently, he served during the 2011 Oregon Legislative Session as an aide to State Senator Mark Hass, helping to usher through significant reforms to Oregon’s K-12 and higher education systems.
Andy holds a law degree from Gonzaga University, where he worked on a number of public-interest law programs that provided service to low-income communities. He has worked on a contract basis for attorneys on cases involving business disputes, unemployment appeals, estate planning, and consumer issues. A native Oregonian, Andy graduated magna cum laude from Portland State University with a bachelor’s degree in community health and communications.
