Instead of taking bulky items (old couches, mattresses, furniture, scrap wood) to the dump, bring them to a neighborhood clean-up only a few blocks from your house! The twelve neighborhoods in inner-north and northeast Portland are hosting clean-ups this spring to make it easy for our neighbors to dispose of, recycle, and reuse things like piles of junk in taking up space in your garage or attic, sytrofoam, metal, and reusable items like clothes and furniture.
Many neighborhoods take sustainability to heart, recycling everything possible and hosting free piles and yard sales for reusable items. Donation amounts associated with Neighborhood Cleanups are always less than fees required at the dump and help to fund neighborhood activities in the coming year.
Get ready to dump your junk and support your neighborhood association – see below for items accepted, dates, times, locations and more!
