PIAC members continue to affirm their mission to support bureaus’ public involvement practices. The PIAC has employed a broad strategy to improve the quality and consistency of public involvement across City government. The PIAC is divided into three working groups:

Members are assessing how PIAC can be of greater support to the City in improving its public involvement processes.
PIAC has conducted an in-depth evaluation and review of City bureau's budget advisory committee (BAC) process.
As part of the City's effort to update its Comprehensive Plan, PIAC members are serving on the Community Involvement Policy Expert Group (PEG).
As PIAC's first deliverable, in August 2010, City Council adopted public involvement principles developed by the PIAC.
City Council directed the Public Involvement Advisory Council (PIAC) to develop a “public involvement baseline assessment” questionnaire. City Council also directed city bureaus to complete the questionnaire.
