Find out what is going on in your neighborhood and with the City of Portland's world renowned neighborhood system.  The Calendar of Events is where you will find information about upcoming neighborhood meetings, community events and volunteer opportunities.  Events are listed by district so you can look at all the events going on in the city or just for your part of town.

    North Williams Avenue street design installation begins; left lane to close shortly

    Construction begins later this week on a new street design for North Williams Avenue, a corridor that serves a growing neighborhood as well as being a popular commute route between downtown and North Portland.

    Hollywood-Grant Park Sewer and Stormwater Project

    Environmental Services is designing a project in the Hollywood, Grant Park and Rose City Park neighborhoods to repair the public sewer system and to reduce stormwater flow into the system. The Hollywood-Grant Park Sewer and Stormwater Project will repair or replace about 21,300 feet of public sewer pipes that are on average 100 years old and failing due to age.

    The Climate Smart Communities Scenarios Project draft Climate Smart Strategy is available for public review and comment from Sept. 15 to Oct. 30, 2014.

    In 2009, the Oregon Legislature required the Portland metropolitan region to reduce per capita greenhouse gas emissions from cars and small trucks by 2035. After four years of collaboration and engagement with regional partners and the public, a draft Climate Smart Strategy is ready for review.

    Track improvements prompt Portland Streetcar North/South Line to use bus shuttle one week starting Sept. 15

    Portland Streetcar advises the traveling public that beginning Monday, Sept. 15 through Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, the North/South (NS) Line will be replaced by a bus shuttle from the stop at SW 11th Avenue and SW Clay Street to the stop at SW Lowell Street & SW Bond Street in the South Waterfront area.

    Community asks, City responds: Commissioner Fritz, Transportation Director Leah Treat dedicate new Safe Routes to School path through Pier Park to North Portland schools

    Friday’s walk home from school was a celebratory occasion for North Portland school children who joined with City officials to parade along a new paved path from Sitton Elementary School through Pier Park to a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Commissioner Amanda Fritz.
