The Oregon College of Oriental Medicine was founded in 1983, and, since then, it has become one of the most comprehensive acupuncture and Oriental medicine programs in the country and ranks as the top acupuncture school in the country, according to The Best Schools rankings. The program’s philosophy strives for an integrated approach between Chinese and Western medicine.
Aside from creating and growing an outstanding academic program, OCOM is a strong and vibrant face in the revitalization of the Old Town Chinatown neighborhood, transforming a 100-year old building into a LEED-Gold certified facility. Their move brings a new presence to the downtown core, bringing more than 350 faculty, staff, students, and patients daily. The move also signifies a return to the area’s rich Chinese legacy and a connection to the heritage of the medicine.
