Remember to pay for parking at Downtown meters on Easter Sunday

Visitors to Downtown Portland are encouraged to use SmartPark garages

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises visitors to Downtown Portland for the upcoming Easter Sunday (March 31, 2013) that they must pay for parking at the meters. Easter Sunday is not one of the City’s nine recognized meter holidays.

Downtown parking meters operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, unless otherwise posted. The current rate for on-street parking in the Downtown district is $1.60 per hour.

Lloyd parking meters east of NE Grand Avenue operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, unless otherwise posted. Lloyd parking meters on and west of NE Grand Avenue operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, unless otherwise posted. The current parking rate in the Lloyd district is $1.00 per hour.

Marquam Hill parking meters operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, unless otherwise posted. The current rate in the Marquam Hill district is $1.60 per hour.

Central Eastside meters operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, unless otherwise posted. The current rate in the Central Eastside district is $1.20 per hour.

Visitors who drive to Downtown Portland are encouraged to use the City’s SmartPark garages, which include nearly 4,000 public parking spaces. All SmartPark garages will be open regular hours on Easter Sunday. For a list of locations, hours and rates, see www.portlandoregon.gov/smartpark.
