Eastside Greenway Trail Closure begins TOMORROW - May 1st

Hello Again,

This is your final reminder that the Eastside Greenway Trail will be closed between Caruthers Street and the OMSI submarine dock for 14 months beginning May 1, 2013 while crews work on trail reconstruction and the landside piers and abutment for the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Bridge.

Please see attached notice and map for detour route using SE Water Avenue.

The same information can also be found on the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Project website:

http://www.trimet.org/pm/construction/#east

The sidewalks and striping on SW Water Avenue are complete.

The left-turn bike box at SE Water and SE Clay Street has been installed.

A final traffic change will be made at the intersection of SE Water and SE Caruthers Streets by the City of Portland. Currently there are stop signs making north/south traffic stop while east/west traffic can go through the intersection without stopping. To facilitate the detour traffic during this trail closure, the stop signs will be switched to where north/south traffic can flow through the intersection without stopping and east/west traffic will need to stop. This traffic switch should be made today.

There will be large barricades and a flagger at each point of trail closure tomorrow until the complete fence panels are installed. The flaggers can help you get to the detour if you’re not sure where to go.

Thank you for distributing this information to others who use the trail.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions/concerns.

Thanks,

DeeAnn
