    Installation of new parking meters begins in the Central Eastside Industrial District

    The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) announced today that it will begin installing 29 parking meters along selected streets in the Central Eastside Industrial District (CEID), including along E. Burnside, NE Grand, NE MLK and SE 6th Avenue.

    Lower Powell Green Street and Sewer Project Update: June 20, 2016

    Work continues on an Environmental Services project to replace and repair 4,508 feet of aging sewer pipe. The work includes constructing 22 green street planters and planting trees to absorb rain and reduce stormwater runoff. The project will keep about 1.6 million gallons of stormwater out of sewers annually, increase sewer system capacity and reduce basement backups.

    SW Broadway Drive closed from June 21 through August 2016 between SW Grant Street and SW Vista Avenue for new retaining wall

    Replacement of a distressed rubble retaining wall on a portion of SW Broadway Drive will require a full road closure for all motorized vehicle traffic beginning tomorrow, June 21, 2016, for the project’s entire duration through August 2016.

    Commissioner Fritz Asks City Council to Refer 3% Tax on Recreational Marijuana Sales

    On Wednesday, June 22 at 2 p.m., Portland City Council will consider referring to voters a 3% tax on recreational marijuana sales, with revenues allocated to drug and alcohol education and treatment, public safety, and support for innovative neighborhood small businesses.

    Public Hearing: Tax Exemption Applications for 2 New Rental Projects

    On Tuesday, July 5, the Portland Housing Advisory Commission (PHAC), the advisory group to the Portland Housing Bureau (PHB), will hold a public hearing to discuss two new applications being considered for approval for the Multiple-Unit Limited Tax Exemption (MULTE) Program.
