As you know, Environmental Services is currently working on two inner southeast Portland sewer projects to increase sewer capacity and reduce the potential for basement backups. One project will replace public sewer pipes that are in poor condition and over 80 years old on SE 2nd and 3rd avenues between Alder and Stark, as well as restore the intersection of SE 3rd and Alder.
The Bureau of Development Services has announced a search for interested citizens to fill two vacancies on the City of Portland Adjustment Committee and two vacancies on the Historic Landmarks Commission.
Environmental Services is replacing or repairing about 17,000 feet of public sewer pipes that are between 60-90 years old and failing due to age. The city installed many of these sewer pipes before 1920. The project also includes constructing about 9,100 feet of 6-inch sewer branch pipes that will connect homes and businesses to the new public sewer pipes.
The Portland Bureau of Transportation is expanding its popular Street Seats program, and is seeking proposals through March 1, 2014 for a maximum of ten new locations citywide.
