Summertime Thrills, Grade 1-3                                                                         
Experience action packed camps filled with exciting activities. Build cooperation, confidence & teamwork skills while making new friends. Stimulate your imagination & increase self-esteem while discovering ways to positively use your energy.
Day/Time: M-F, 9am-1pm Fee: $110 Location: Gabriel Park, 42nd & Vermont in picnic circle by playground

  • Campers should wear closed toed shoes, weather appropriate clothing, and have sunscreen applied before they arrive. Please bring water bottle, lunch and backpack to carry personal items.

The days are hot & so is the excitement! Capture the fever for a swinging good time of arts, crafts, games, songs, & group exploration. Seek out new experiences, develop friendships & discover healthy physical activities. Adventure Awaits!

Sports - Get in the Game, Grade 1-3                                                              
A mixed bag of team & organized activities guaranteed to get you in shape. A non-competitive, nurturing environment with emphasis on sportsmanship & fair play helps encourage skills for a lifetime.
Day/Time: M-F, 9am-5pm Fee: $180       Location: Gabriel Park Field #2 (lower field), 42nd & Vermont South side of parking lot.
Field Trip: Thursday Swimming: Mon & Wed, Slip & Slide on Fri

 Get in the Game Campers at SWCC Olympics
Gymnastics Camp - Nuts & Bolts, Grade 1-5                                                
Stretch, tumble, balance & leap into a world of physical activity that supports an enduring healthy lifestyle. Emphasizes the fundamentals of rolls, cartwheels & headstands & provides an introduction to available gymnastic equipment. Progression of basic skills benefits both boys & girls as they develop strength, agility & coordination applicable to all sports.
Day/Time: M-F, 1-5pm Fee: $125     Location: SWCC East Gym
Swimming: Tuesday & Wed; Slip & Slide on Fridays

180 Skateboarding Camp, Grade 2-6                                                           
Skate the best parks in the world! That’s right, Oregon is home to several of the greatest skate parks ever built. Take the tour & find out for yourself! Whether you are just learning how to ollie, carve transitions, or are already kickflipping & blasting airs off vert, this will keep you stoked while improving your balance, mechanics, riding skills & control.
Day/Time: M-Th, 9am-5pm Fee: $180     Location: Gabriel Park Skate Park off of 45th Ave
Field Trip: Thursday Swimming: Tuesday

Program Details
  • Campers should wear closed toed shoes, weather appropriate clothing, and have sunscreen applied before they arrive. Please bring water bottle, morning and afternoon snacks, lunch, and backpack to carry personal items. Bring swimsuit & towel in swim days!
  • In case of inclement weather, camp will continue.  The campers will either travel to the Department of Skate (indoor), or watch movies and learn basic board maintenance techniques inside Southwest Community Center.
  • Boards, helmets, and pads are available for checkout, please contact Tim Haberman at 503-823-2847 to reserve equipment.
  • In addition the the SWCC Camp Emergency Form, you will also need to complete a Skateboard Participation Agreement.
  • 180 Skate Camp is for all levels of skill - beginners to advanced!

Sports Specialty Camps, Grade 3-6                                                                 
  • Basketball: Sharpen your basketball skills. Learn important individual and team skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defending. We strive to provide a safe and fun environment which promotes sportsmanship, fair play, and a solid understanding of the game.
  • Soccer: You know the fundamentals, now practice different aspects of play! Increase knowledge and skills that benefit the team developing stronger shots, improving timing and game strategies. Build confidence, self esteem, and cardio-vascular health through shooting, dribbling, passing, and control drills.
  • Baseball: Is there a budding athlete in the house? Improve hitting, catching & throwing skills in a supportive, high-energy environment. Watch passion for the game develop, mastering base running, hitting off a tee & soft tosses. Play Ball!
  • Lacrosse: Ever catch with a stick? Master the basic skills of stick-handling to throw, catch, and cradle the ball in a challenging, non-contact class. Develop eye-hand coordination, confidence, and strength while enjoying a new sport. Come play the newest game in town!
  • Flag Football: Build a foundation that will never crack by properly learning the basics! Play the game with less risk of injury. Emphasis is on education, throwing, catching, running, defense, agility, quickness, participation, and sportsmanship.
  • Volleyball: Bump, set, spike! Develop skills needed to play in this popular sport. Focus on the fundamentals of the game, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Learn the skills that will get you into the game.

SNAP Camp, Grade 4-6                                                                                   
Jump for joy; sing out loud; its summer time again! Join the Summer Non-stop Activity Program (SNAP) & make new friends in a creative theme adventure where imagination & discovery lead the way & cooperation & teamwork are words of the day! Fill your days with arts & crafts, projects, games, sports & much more!
Day/Time: M-F, 9am-5pm Fee: $180      Location: Gabriel Park, 42nd & Vermont West side of parking lot.

Sports Madness, Grade 4-6                                                                             
Sample an athletic smorgasbord! Enthusiasm & excitement abound participating in traditional games while discovering new ones. Activities suit both the established & aspiring athlete. Emphasis on team play, cooperation & participation ensure a positive experience for all.
Full Day: M-F, 9am-5pm Fee: $180      Drop-Off: SWCC Gym
Half Day: M-F, 9am-1pm, Full day on field trip day. Fee: $110 Pick-up: Gabriel Park Field #2, 42nd & Vermont South side of parking lot.
