A Bittersweet Farewell to one of SWCC's finest!

Hi to all SWCC members and guests! I hope you are on track with your winter fitness goals. If you're finding you need some extra motivation or a little more help to make that push to take your fitness to the next level, be sure to check out SWCC's new program 'Target.' It's a six week small group format designed to get you quick and measurable results. You will meet with one of our certified personal trainers three times a week (and have programs in place for the other days) and meet with our registered dietitian once a week for guidance and meal plans. Please see the front desk or ask Katie for more information. Space is limited to six, so sign up today!

I wanted to tell you that after eight wonderful years of working here, my time has come to embark on a new adventure. It is with a heavy heart, and it wasn't an easy decision, that I have accepted the role of the Fitness Director at a private club. I started here in 2007, at the young age of 22, fresh out of college, and you all welcomed me with open arms. With all of your help and motivation, I have grown into the fitness professional that you see today. I have enjoyed each and every connection I have made here and hope to have left a lasting impression on all of you. Your continued efforts to stay healthy and fit will forever be etched in my mind and know that SWCC will always have a place in my heart. I hope you all continue on your fitness journeys, using the skills I have taught you. Remember the more you move the better you feel! Let's keep moving forward into a fit 2015! Thank you again and I will miss all of you!

Hi everyone and Happy Friday! I hope you all have been staying warm and active this chilly fall season. With dropping temperatures and evenings coming earlier, wanting to leave the house becomes a huge effort. These obstacles, along with many others, require strong internal motivation and self-pep talks to get over and power through. I like to remind my clients and myself of how good we feel after a workout. It only takes about 30-60 minutes to accomplish a complete workout and once you’ve started sweating you remember why you’ve left the house and gotten to SWCC multiple times during the week.

With the ever busy holiday season approaching fast, relieving stress and taking of yourself  is crucial. Also, it has been proven that regular exercise keeps your immune system strong, keeping illness at bay. We can all use a strong immune system during the cold and flu season! With all the positive reasons to be exercising, finding a hour a day to take care of yourself shouldn’t be too hard.

This time of year, fitness classes and personal training sessions can be a life saver. All you have to do is show up and our fabulous instructors do the rest. A fitness friend expecting to see you in class, or an appointment with your trainer always help to keep you accountable. Let our certified fitness professionals keep you moving and feeling your best through the end of the year and into 2015! Let’s all stay fit and on track together. I will see you in the gym!
