Camp Forms & Policies

Before and After Care for 4-6 yrs (Pre K) and Grades 1-5 camps.

Before and After Care are provided for campers who may need an early drop off or a late pickup from camps.  This time will be paid for at the front desk ahead of time and the receipt needs to be presented to the counselor upon arrival. Before and After Care will be held in the Learning Center and Classroom #1. Low energy games and arts/crafts will be provided for those who attend. The following applies to all camps starting at 9:00am and/or ending at 5:00pm

Emergency Form, Medication, Allergies & ADA Accomodations

Emergency Form:

  • Please complete the camp waiver-emergency form and bring it with you the first day of camp.  Your child will not be able to participate in camp without the Medical/Emergency Form completed. There is a different waiver-emergency form for each camp season. Summer, Winter & Spring.
  • Everyone must fill out the NEW form for summer, winter & spring, as we update all of our records for camp before every season. It is important to us that we ALWAYS have the most up-to-date information on your child.
  • Swimming: Children that are marked on the emergency form as not needing to wear a life jacket will be asked to complete a swim check with lifeguard      supervision on the first day in the pool. The child will need to swim the length of the lap pool. Lifeguards look for kids to be able to swim the whole length without getting tired or requiring support from the wall.  Children who do not take the swim check, or do not successfully pass the  swim check, are required to wear a life jacket. A child may re-take the swim check. A swim check need only be completed once for the season.  Preschool camps do not swim.
  • Field Trips: EPCC offers four separate destination field trips every summer. Field trips will change from year to year. All participants will need to complete a separate Camp Field Trip Waiver before the trip. Click on Summer Camps for more details.


  •  If your child requires medicine to be administered or carried with them while they are at camp, such as an EpiPen or inhaler, you will also need to complete a Medication Waiver and a Medical Administration Form. Please complete these forms and bring them with you on the first day of camp, or plan for additional time at check-in to fill them out.
  • All medication must be in its original container and bring only the amount needed for one day at a time.
  •  If you have any questions about medicine and camp, please call 503-823-0206 and speak with the coordinator in charge of the camp.


  • If your child has allergies, please notify the front desk at the time of registration. The Customer Service Representative will include this information on the alerts in your account.
  • You should also contact the coordinator in charge of the program at least 5 days in advance so that accommodations can be made where possible for planned activities.

ADA Accommodation:

  • Within the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) of 1990, Portland Parks & Recreation provides accommodations to individuals with disabilities/special needs, so that they may receive an equal opportunity to fully participate in programs offered city-wide.
  • When registering, let the Customer Service Representative know that you will need an accommodation.   You will also need to contact Inclusion Services at 503-823-4328 to request accommodation a minimum of 10 business days (Monday-Friday) before the start of the program.   • EPCC works closely with families needing accommodation within EPCC camp programs. If you are planning to register for one week or every week of camp with EPCC and your child needs ADA assistance, please contact the EPCC Inclusion Coordinator, Gabe Barbee at 503-823-0206 or . We hire for Inclusion Assistants in early May, the sooner we start a conversation, the better prepared we will be.

Scheduled Payment options - Process TBD

The process below applied to the Summer of 2014. The process will be similar for Summer Camps '15, but it has not yet been finalized due to Park's transition to standardized summer camps city wide and the implementation of new registration software. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience. 

Want to secure a spot now and pay for it later? You can with a small deposit if you sign up for scheduled payments.

  • With a credit or debit card, you can register in person today with a small fee and pay the remainder for those summer camps your children will love on a later date.
  • The paperwork process can take about 15-20 minutes depending on the number of camps you are signing up for. Speed up the process by bringing in a written list of the camps you plan to register for with dates and barcodes.
  • Patron is responsible for remembering to make the scheduled payments. Registration will be cancelled if full payment is not received by the designated due date.
  • REFUND POLICY: To hold your child’s spot in any EPCC summer camp, you can make a $10/week deposit per camp.  The $10 deposit is non-refundable. You must pay the total amount for the camp two weeks prior to camp starting or we will offer the position to the next child on the waiting list. No refund will be given after the Thursday prior to camp starting



Cancellation Policy

EPCC requires 4-5 day notice of cancellation (varies depending on camp season, more information below) in order to issue a full refund. Late cancellations will be assessed a withdrawal fee & charged for each camp day through notification.

We understand that cancellations are not always avoidable, but we do ask that parents and guardians plan accordingly to limit these circumstances. Camps are very popular and in many cases have waitlists. Notifying us with plenty of advanced notice allows us to contact waitlisted candidates so we can provide camp programs to as many participants as possible

Inclement Weather – Sports Zone Camp (outdoor sports)

INCLEMENT WEATHER: If NOAA forecasts heavy rain or excessive heat, we will arrange or camp schedule to free up gym space to accommodate for the outdoor sports camps. We rarely deal with inclement weather and we are more than happy to adjust for the few days out of the summer that we do.

Camp Scholarships

Scholarships are available for qualifying City of Portland residents. Call 503-823-3450 or stop by the center to pick up an scholarship application or get more information. Scholarships are limited so please inquire early. Those who qualify for a summer camp scholarship can receive up to 50% off of up to 3 full weeks or less of camp (this may include all camps that are combined to complete a full week of camp, 9am-4pm or 9am-5:30pm).

What to Pack for Camp

  • Lunch: please pack healthy, non-refrigerated, non-microwavable snacks and a lunch. Full day campers should pack a lunch and large snack. 9am-1pm campers should pack a lunch (snacks for morning camper will be provided). 1:30pm-5:30pm or 1pm-4pm campers should pack a large snack.
  • Hydration: campers should bring a water bottle (Tip: Freeze it overnight to keep cool during the day)
  • Sunscreen: apply sunscreen before arriving at camp. Full day campers should pack the spray-on/pump variety for applications later in the day; staff are not      permitted to apply lotion sunscreen.
  • Swimming: on scheduled swimming days or fieldtrips campers should pack a swimsuit & towel
  • Shoes: Wear closed-toed shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Some camps will stay outside with light rain.
  • Medications (if necessary). Please review the medication policy and be prepared to complete the Medical Administration form.
  • Backpack. All items should be in a clearly labeled backpack that your child will be able to carry with them throughout the day.
  • Rain Gear: If rain is in the forecast make sure to pack rain boots and water proof jacket (most camps have an indoor home in the event of rain).

What NOT to Pack for Camp:

  • Cell phones, MP3s or electronics
  • Games, cards, figurines or toys
  • Money ($2 for vending is allowed with a note from parent or guardian)
  • Any other valuables
