Portland Parks & Recreation Sites
Site Description: PP&R and the Friends of Baltimore Woods invite you to join us for the removal of English Ivy and other invasive weeds in beautiful Baltimore Woods! Our work area for the day is on recently-acquired public property adjacent to Cathedral Park and it really needs some love; so come help us get it ready to be a healthier place for people and wildlife!
We'll provide gloves, tools, training and snacks. Volunteers will meet at the intersection of N Decatur St and N Alta Ave and work from 9am-12pm. This site has a capacity of 30 people. Visit www.friendsofbaltimorewoods.org for more details.

Elk Rock Island
Site Description: PP&R and the Friends of Elk Rock Island invite you to come out to help clean up this Portland gem! Elk Rock is in need of clean up and invasive removal and we could use your help.
Remember to wear/bring: Long pants and closed-toed shoes, layers, hats and waterproof clothing for weather, full water bottles and work gloves or hand tools if you got 'em!

Forest Park - Lower Macleay
Site Description: Join the No Ivy League for a morning of ivy removal in Forest Park. Gather here on October 25 for Forest Park volunteer events and join us afterwards for our celebration! Volunteers meeting here will hike ~1 mile to our ivy removal location in the park. Tools, gloves and KIND snacks provide. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy, closed toed shoes and bring a water bottle.

Join PP&R and the Friends of Gabriel Park to remove ivy in the natural area and help restore this beautiful park. This event is family friendly but children must be accompanied by an adult. Please dress for the weather, wear sturdy closed-toed shoes, and bring a water bottle. Tools, gloves, and snacks will be provided.

Marquam Nature Park and Terwilliger Park Joint event - SW Terwilliger Blvd. and SW Hamilton
Join PP&R, the Friends of Marquam Nature Park, Friends of Terwilliger and Homestead Neighborhood Association to continue ivy removal Marquam Nature Park and Terwilliger Park! Help restore these two beautiful and important natural area by removing ivy. This event is family friendly but children must be accompanied by an adult. Springwater Trail @ SE 128th Ave
Join the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood Association Greening Committee, Johnson Creek Watershed Council, and PP&R to remove ivy and other invasive plant species in this area that hosts the red-legged frog (a sensitive species) and western red-backed salamander. Meet at SE 128th and the Springwater Corridor trail, just north of Foster Rd where Reedway intersects with SE 128th. Park alongside road; take care not to block neighbors' driveways. Instruction, tools, gloves, onsite portable toilet, coffee/tea, water, and snacks provided. Dress for the weather: long sleeved shirts, thick pants, and sturdy boots or shoes (no open-toed shoes, please). Terrain is hilly, with some potentially wet areas. Volunteers needed: 25

No Ivy Day is an annual ivy removal event in Portland, Oregon started in 2003 focused on providing stewardship opportunities in our beloved natural areas while raising awareness of the challenges they face.

What should I bring to an ivy removal work party?
Please be prepared for dirty work - long sleeves, long pants, sturdy shoes, and a water bottle are a must! Most work sites will provide gloves and tools unless specified; check out their site description to make sure.
