Will the races fill?

All of our races for the 2012 and 2013 season were at capacity and we expect our 2014 season to fill as well.  Make sure to register early to secure your spot.  If the race of your choice is full, we suggest that you add yourself to the waitlist.  If a spot opens up we will contact you.

Can I register on the day of the race?

We have been extremely pleased with the enthusiasm and support that the racing community in Portland has shown us.  All races will fill before the day of the race.  It is very important to us that the race day experience is positive for all runners.  With this in mind, we have chosen to keep the maximum number of registrants for each race at an appropriate level. 

What's the structure of the race?

Each of the races are self contained within the footprint of the park.  Each location is different and each park is unique.  All locations will feature running on cross country sections as well as finished pathways.

Can I walk or do I have to run?

The $5 5k is for all ages and ability levels.  Both runners and walkers are welcome.  We ask that slower runners and walkers start towards the back of the pack.

Can I use a jogging stroller for the 5k?

Jogging strollers are allowed on our courses.  We do ask that you start toward the back of the pack.

Is the race chip timed?

New for 2014 we will be unveiling our new chip timing system. We are extremely excited for the new addition to the $5 5k Series and hope that there aren't too many hiccups as we discover all of the bells and whistles that come with this fantastic piece of technology. Thank you in advance for your patience!

Are dogs allowed in the run?

Dogs are not allowed on the course at this time.  Dogs on leashes are welcome to be in our vendor and activity areas.

Do you still need race volunteers?

We couldn't offer these races at these rates without our fantastic volunteers!  We are always looking for energetic and motivated volunteers to help with our races.  Contact us through our contact page if you are interested.

I want to buy a shirt at the race.  How much does it cost?

Our new shirts are $18 at the races.  Only $15 at our early bib pick up events the Thursday prior to each race.  Please bring cash as we do not have a way to safely process your credit cards.

When is bib pick up?

Bib pick up events are the Thursday before each race day from 4-7pm at a Portland Parks & Recreation community center near the race location.  If you can't make it to our early bib pick up on Thursday, you can check in on race day as early as 7:30am.  Here are the dates and locations for the 2014 season.
