ARBOR DAY FESTIVAL – SATURDAY APRIL 26, 2014
Join us for a celebration of “all things trees” at the Arbor Month Festival at Portland Farmers Market at PSU from 8:30 – 2:00. This is Portland’s once-a-year gathering to honor those who care for trees, admire trees, eat food from trees, play in trees, and most of all admire trees all year long. The message is about trees. The focus is on fun. There are interactive games for kids and educational activities for kids of all ages. Do your shopping at the Farmers Market and then stop by and celebrate trees in the city; trees that beautify our parks, trees that line our streets, trees that cool our streams, trees that mitigate our wastewater, and trees that look dang nice in one of the nicest cities on earth.
Live music!! Food!! Shopping!! Kids activities!!
Honor the best at the Bill Naito Community Trees Award ceremony at NOON. 936 tree-hugging Portlanders who broke the Guinness World Record for hugging trees in Hoyt Arboretum last year and Tryon Creek Watershed tireless volunteer organizer, Phil Hamilton, both receive citations. Portland receives its 37th annual Tree City USA designation as a TREE CITY, too.
