Preventing Falls - One Step At A Time
Event Types > Arts/Culture/Recreation
Did you know that tai chi is one of the best ways for older adults to increase strength and balance and reduce the likelihood of falling?
Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance is a simplified form of tai chi designed for seniors available through Portland Parks and Recreation. Come see this graceful, gentle form of exercise at Director Park on Sept 17 from noon-12:30, in celebration of the 6th Annual National Falls Prevention Awareness Day. This year's theme, "Preventing Falls - One Step at a Time" seeks to unite professionals, older adults, caregivers, and family members to play a part in raising awareness and preventing falls in the older adult population.
