Portland Parks’ educational preschool programs strive to be as fair as possible in the enrollment process.  Registration is taken in the following order:

  1. Current students & their age eligible siblings enroll on a first-come first-served basis during Pre-Registration before the general public may reserve spaces on Open Enrollment day.
  2. Any remaining spaces may be reserved for new students on Open Enrollment morning via on-site/in-person, first-come/first-served processing. When you arrive, check in with the front desk and they will tell you where folks are lining up.  People are registering for any one of 6 classes so don’t be discouraged if the line seems long.  Childcare will be open at 8am if you need to bring kiddos with you.  It’s not an exciting wait, so childcare may help!  I recommend bringing a book or your laptop.  Please note it is possible that a class may already be full on OE morning due to current students & their age-eligible siblings registering for the following year.
  3. Waitlists will start with the folks here in line and then be built upon from that point forward by others who call in or visit us later.  We do not start waitlists for new students before Open Enrollment day so that each new family has the same opportunity to register or reserve their spot in the waitlist.  The waitlist is valid through the entire school year; as spaces open up we refer to the same list through the year.  Many times we go through multiple names before a spot is taken, so don’t be discouraged if you are waitlisted!

I’m happy to help you find the best fit for your preschooler’s early childhood education!  Please call me at 503-823-2848.
