Hi there! Happy Fitness Friday!
I hope by now most of you have heard about my new position as Creative Director of Fitness and Wellness! I am over the moon excited to have been offered this position and know that by working together we can keep SWCC a great place for us all to workout and have fun while doing it!
This week I wanted to talk nutrition! March is national nutrition month so I feel it's an appropriate time to address an important part of wellness. Our bodies are like a fine tuned machine that wants to perform well for us. The better we treat our bodies the better they will work for us. I like to think of eating well as spoiling myself. The better I eat the better I feel! You can sum it all up with the saying 'you are what you eat.' Seriously. All of our cells form from the food we eat.
It has taken me years to figure out what my diet should be, and no I'm not referring to weight loss when I say diet, I am talking about my daily food intake. Today I am still working on the perfecting the right combination of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Our diets need to be rich and balanced in real whole food sources.
Knowing how to eat and finding the right balance of nutrients can be tough so we are happy to now offer you nutritional counseling with our very own fabulous Gail Nelson! Let her help you create a meal plan perfect for your active lifestyle! She will customize a menu for you and your goals. It’s important to remember fitness and wellness go hand in hand. We don't want to spend all that time working on our fitness just to ruin it with our choices in the kitchen!
