A tour through Forest Park

Description

Walk the beautiful Wild Cherry/Dogwood Loop In Forest Park and learn how this urban wilderness came to be. Why is Portland so fortunate to have this park -- the lungs of our city -- instead of a massive housing development that was planned for it? It's a tale of vision, of great disappointments, and of unwavering devotion by men and women of Portland's past. While we hear the stories, we'll identify native birds, flora and fauna as it presents itself. Come rain or shine! Proper foot wear recommended.

Directions to meeting location: The walk begins at the Wild Cherry Trail head on NW 53rd Drive. From the Portland Audobon building on Cornell Road, travel West to SW 53rd Street and proceed about .9 of a mile to the Wild Cherry Trail.
