Summer Specialty Camps (Youth & Preschool)

Camp Fish On! Fishing Camp - Ages 8-12

If you want to become a fisher-person, this is a great way to start! Whether you consider it sport or hobby, relax & enjoy a pastime that can provide stress-relief & a breath of fresh air in a hectic world. Basic fishing techniques, interactive activities, fish identity & anatomy, knot tying, safety, environmental ed & casting games are just a part of the fun! Class size is limited, sign up early!
Day/Time:  M-W, 10am-2pm (Check in - 9:45-10am, Check out - 2-2:15pm). Th, 8am-3:30pm - Field Trip to Faraday Lake. Fee: $50 Meeting Location: Classroom #2
Faraday Lake Field Trip (Thursday 8am-3:30pm): Faraday Lake is a popular & accessible reservoir off the Clackamas River. There are picnic tables & access points for all fisher persons regardless of their abilities. The reservoir is stocked regularly with catchable Rainbow Trout throughout the season from May through September.
Staff: Jack Morby - a volunteer through OFWD & is looking forward to sharing his passion for fishing with his campers.

Skateboarding Camp - Ages 7-10

Set & Reach new skateboarding goals while building healthy confidence on your board! Learn about skate park etiquette, safety practices & skateboarding fundamentals. Improve balance, mechanics, riding skills & control. Get up, get excited! Let's skate!
Day/Time:  M-F, 9am-12pm (Check in - 8:45-9am, Check out - 12-12:15pm) Fee: $60 Meeting Location: Ed Benedict Skate Park
Ed Benedict Skate Park: Located at SE 100th & Powell Blvd, the skate park is 18,000 sq ft of street skating with ledges, edges, stairs, rails & banks.

Fun & Games in Mandarin Camp - Ages 6-8yrs

Have a great time mastering basic Mandarin! Songs, activities, crafts & games both indoors & out create a fun, unique environment! Hand gestures, color coding & kazoos are used to help with correct tones. Includes inventive ways of learning to write Chinese characters!
Day/Time: M-Th, 1-5:30pm (Check in - 1-1:15pm, Check out - 5:30-5:45pm) Fee: $60 Meeting Location: Classroom #2

Kristina Knight has over 17 years of teaching experience & a Master's degree in Chinese Literature, Ms. Knight integrates crafts, games, skits & fun activities in her class.

Hoop Journey - Summer Basketball Camp, Entering Grades 1-6

Girls! Boys! Get in the Game! Improve ball handling, shooting techniques & footwork while increasing hand-eye coordination, arm & hand strength & your stamina. Emphasis is on fundamentals & rules of the game. Dribble! Pass! Shoot!  Camp will also include games, drills, prizes, tournaments and a T-shirt. This one of kind basketball camp will be an experience your child won't forget. It's the perfect way to end your summer.

Yo-Chi-Fu Camp - Preschool Ages 4-6 & Grades 1-6
A unique blend of basics in Yoga, Kung-fu, & Tai Chi combined with art, dance, music & play. Discover balance in the body, mind & heart modeled in nature. Confidence building, compassion inspiring & conflict resolution through self-awareness in an atmosphere full of movement, music & magic. Wisdom of the ancients brought to the present, inspiring the youth of our time.
Day/time: M-F, 1-4pm Fee: $65 Meeting Location: Classroom #2 or Dance Studio
