City Employees

A transition into a new job is the perfect time to think about emergency preparedness. Portland faces several possible natural hazards: storms, earthquakes, landslides, wildfires, flooding, even volcanic eruptions. Click on the links for simple ways to be prepared at home and at work.

1. Make a personal emergency plan

Having a family plan that you practice allows you to respond more quickly and then come back to work.

2. Update your emergency contacts

When an emergency happens, your manager may need to reach your family or a close friend. It's up to you to provide this information and keep it current.

3: Find out if you're a City emergency responder

Police and firefighters aren't the only employees needed to get Portland back on its feet.

4. Register for PublicAlerts

Opt-in! It's one of many ways we notify you about emergencies.
