The City of Portland is dedicated to removing barriers to Fair Housing. Our community is strongest when everyone has equal access to a safe, affordable place to call home in opportunity-rich neighborhoods, near public transit, strong schools, quality health care and the many amenities Portland has to offer.
The Portland Housing Bureau (PHB), together with our partners, launched a Fair Housing public awareness campaign to engage renters and landlords in meaningful learning opportunities about Fair Housing law. Our theme is "Fairness Matters: Our Work Today Defines Our Tomorrow". With landlords, we are cementing Fair Housing best practices and expanding knowledge about the evolution of Fair Housing law. We strive to reach members of protected classes in innovative ways with Fair Housing resources that support their success.
Neighborhood diversity promotes a greater sense of engagement, teaches that stereotypes are wrong and better prepares our children for the global community.
When we welcome diversity, we encourage Fair Housing and elevate the quality of life for all Portlanders.
