Portland Housing Bureau's Deputy Director, Jacob Fox, and Housing Program Coordinator, Phil Willis-Conger, helped congratulate two deserving families on their new homes, at Habitat For Humanity's Block Party last weekend.
Thang Tangpi and Don Cing (left), originally from Burma, moved to the United States with hope for a better future for their family. Even with two full-time jobs, the couple struggled to make rent and support their family of six.
Solomon and Senait Geberemariame-Hateselassie had concerns about their current apartment's mold issues as their daughter, Rohama, started growing and becoming more active. They were looking for a safer environment for her to play and be a kid.
Both families' new homes are possibly through our partners, Habitat for Humanity.
