A Community-Wide Ask for Blankets and Volunteers

Multnomah County Commissioner Liesl Wendt and Portland City Commissioner Dan Saltzman have asked the community for donations of winter gear and volunteer time. The recent cold snap created a consecutive nine-day severe weather event that depleted supplies, primarily blankets, at several nonprofit agencies.

Community partners, who already perform extraordinary work with limited resources, stretched those resources even further to open volunteer-staffed emergency shelters and to distribute blankets and winter gear.

For information about how to give and how to volunteer, visit 211info.org or call 2-1-1.
