Lost Traffic Citations
For information about a traffic citation issued west of NE/SE 122nd Avenue call (503) 988-3235.
For information about a traffic citation issued east of NE/SE 122nd Avenue call (503) 988-3199.

  • Citation number
  • Court date
  • Amount of fine
  • Procedure for resolving a traffic citation

Traffic Citation Discovery
If felony and/or misdemeanor charges were filed in addition to receiving a traffic citation you must contact the Multnomah County District Attorney Discovery Desk at (503) 988-3018 for all discovery matters.

If  only a citation was issued, Oregon Revised Statutes 153.076(3) and ORS 135.815 et. seq. require the City to disclose the following if the City possesses:

  • The names of persons who will testify at the trial: The citing officer(s).
  • Officer notebook entries or other written or recorded statements of witnesses who will testify: Recorded or written statements or memoranda of oral statements made by the defendant.    
  • Any expert reports or statements that will be offered at trail: The citing officer(s).
  • Any documents or tangible objects that were obtained from the defendant or will be offered at trial.

Citations beginning with the letter Z

Written statements, if any exist, may be found on the citation maintained in the court file.  Neither the Police Bureau nor the officer retain a copy of these notes. To inquire on how to obtain a copy of the officer’s notes, contact the Multnomah County Courthouse Files Room at (503) 988-3003.

Requests for officer’s notes must be in writing.

Copies of requested documents are available by mail only.

Fees

The following fee schedule for services by the Portland Police Bureau is hereby established pursuant to Portland City Code 3.20.360 and Oregon Revised Statutes 192.440(3).

  • Officer’s Notes - $8.50 (per officer, per incident)

  • If a traffic accident report was written, the following fee will apply if you request a copy of the report.  $10.00 for the first five pages of a report. $2.00 each additional page.

The Portland Police Bureau may charge for search time even if we fail to locate any records responsive to the request or even if the records located are subsequently determined to be exempt from disclosure.

In your request, include the following:

MVR Mobile Video Recording System copy to CD - $10.00

In-Car Mobile Video Recording (MVR)

In the event the violation was recorded by an in-car Mobile Video Recording system, the defendant would have been notified at the time of the traffic stop.

$25.00 per Citation Packet

Citation packets for Photo Radar Violations include:

  • Color photographs of the car and driver    

  • Notice of Speed Law Violation

  • Certificate of Innocence

  • The Photo Radar Visual Observation Log with Photo Equipment Checklist

  • A list of Photo Radar sign locations

  • A copy of the radar unit’s certification

In your request, include the following:

  • Your name, address and phone number

  • The citation number

  • Include a copy of the citation

  • The item(s) you are requesting

$20.00 per Citation Packet

The Portland Police Bureau may charge for search time even if we fail to locate any records responsive to the request or even if the records located are subsequently determined to be exempt from disclosure.

Citation packets for Red Light Camera Violations include:

  • Color photographs of the car and driver

  • A copy of the citation

  • Notice of Violation of Traffic Control Device

  • A Certificate of Innocence

  • The Service and Inspection Log

  • A diagram of the Red Light Camera Photography

  • A list of Red Light Camera sign locations

  • A copy of the Oregon Law that pertains to Red Light Camera

In your request, include the following:

Heartbleed Security Notice
