JENNY ELLA LEWIS

On March the 1st, 1973 at approx 8:30 am, a cleaning lady at the Travel Lodge at 949 E Burnside discovered the body of a white female in a room 123. This female was partially clothed and her purse was nearby.  She was later identified as Jenny Ella Lewis, a white female, 20 years old.  An autopsy determined that Ms Lewis died of asphyxiation.

Ms Lewis was known to turn tricks at that particular motel.  On the evening of her death (Feb 28th), around midnight, she was working in downtown Portland in the area of SW Park and Alder.  Other prostitutes working that area recalled that Jenny was picked up by a white male.  They never saw her alive again.

A subject living in Longview, Washington at the time was a person of interest in this case.  As of this date, no one has been convicted of killing Ms Lewis.

Investigators are interested in talking to anyone that may have any information regarding this case.  If anyone has told you that they know something about a murder of a prostitute or a murder in a motel in 1973 or just a long time ago, we would like to talk to you.  Jenny’s family is emotionally involved in the resolution of this case and still searching for answers.

If you have any information regarding this case, you are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 503-823-HELP (4357).
