In the early morning hours of July 18, 1985, a workman was disposing of refuse in a dumpster located in the 6100 block of NE Martin Luther King Blvd.  As he was disposing of the trash, he saw the body of a partially clad African-American female.  Responding medical personnel declared her dead.  This woman was later identified as Diane Denise Jordan, 5’10”, 130 lbs, who was 27years old at the time of her death.  An autopsy later determined that Ms Jordan died from Asphyxia by strangulation.

Ms Jordan was a working girl who was last seen alive and fully clothed in the area of MLK and Roselawn after midnight on July 18.  She was only partially clothed when her body was discovered in the dumpster.  One item of clothing that was missing were a pair of white pants that Ms Jordan was wearing prior to her death.

Neighbors in the area of NE 6th and Roselawn told investigators that they heard a woman cry out for help from the back of a white vehicle in the early morning hours of July 18, 1985. The vehicle was described as an early model, 1976 or 77 van, white in color, with chrome wheels, no windows on the drivers side, cargo type back doors and a spare tire and spare tire holder mounted on the back of the van.
