At approximately 7:20 a.m. on December 20, 1995, Darrin Ezell, a 24-year old African-American man, was sleeping in his bedroom located at 9339 SE Ramona Street. His girlfriend had just left for work leaving her two children in the home. Three masked men entered the apartment and confronted Mr. Ezell and then shot him before leaving. Mr. Ezell died of his injuries soon after. The children were unharmed.
Darrin Ezell was believed to be involved in gambling and drug dealing. Detectives suspect the motive for this homicide was robbery based on information developed in the investigation.
