During the first week of October, the Portland Police Bureau's Central Precinct Street Crimes Unit,(SCU),Central's Neighborhood Response Team,(NRT),and investigators from the Drugs and Vice Division, conducted a four-day drug mission called "Rocktober". The officers utilized informants to purchase drugs in Old Town, Waterfront Park, and the East Bank Esplanade.

There are currently nineteen Multnomah County Grand Jury secret indictment warrants for individuals that sold drugs to informants used by police. Investigators expect more indictments next week after a Multnomah County Grand Jury meets again.

This mission was conducted because of complaints from business owners and residents who live in the area where these drug transactions take place on a daily basis. Ten officers each day were used to carry out this operation.

Two booking photographs will also be sent separate of this alert. The photographs are of 52-year-old Ronnie Jay Eubanks who was arrested for Delivery and Possession of Heroin, and 45-year-old Kevin Eugene Bridges who was arrested for Delivery and Possession of Cocaine. Both of these arrests were made during the "Rocktober" mission.

Interviews of Central Precinct Commander Reese can be scheduled through the PIO.
