April 08, 2010 20:08Last night at approximately midnight, Portland Police Officers and investigators from the bureau's Major Crash Team responded to the Interstate 5 freeway at the Greeley Exit on a report of a single car accident. When officers arrived, they located two people that had been ejected from a pickup truck that had crashed at the scene. Both occupants were transported to an area hospital and the male occupant died at the hospital at 3 am. The female occupant is still in critical condition.
Investigators determined that the vehicle veered onto the left shoulder of the freeway and hit the barrier and then veered right across both lanes of traffic and struck a second traffic barrier head on. Officers are still investigating this accident in order to determine the cause.
